TASK 2 - Independent task
POINT OF VIEW is an important concept in narrative.
A. What do you think the concept of Point of View means in narrative (story telling)? Research a definition or two to help you answer this question.
B. Give an example of two other narratives you know (at least one must be a film) which present one character's point of view strongly. Name the text, character, and how the story privileges their perspective.
C. True Grit preferences the point of view of Mattie Ross. Write several examples directly from the film's storyline where the filmmakers make it clear that this is Mattie's story, and encourage us to "take her side" (or, EMPATHISE with her.) In writing these examples, provide just enough detail that someone who doesn't know the film well would still be able to understand your meaning.
