Welcome to Term 3, year 7 Drama!
This term we will learn how actors analyse scripts for television and film, the technicalities of blocking a performance for the camera and the different methods you can use to approach screen acting. We will also learn how directors plan before shooting a scene and all the things they have to take into consideration.
Statement of Inquiry: Human experience can be represented inside a frame.
Factual Question – What is an enviro mark? What does INT and EXT mean on a script? What is ‘the big print’.
Conceptual Question- What can blocking achieve on a symbolic level for audiences?
Debatable Questions – In your opinion, what is harder or more challenging? Acting for the camera or acting for the stage? Why? Can you think of any examples from films or television shows that may have been hard/ easy for the actor (given your understanding of the techniques actors for film and tv have to employ)? Can you think on examples from your own experiences or the experiences of your peers?
